Essential Job Duties:
The Librarian for Digital Teaching & Learning leads the management and development of the Libraries' high-quality, innovative online learning objects and digital learning support. To this end, they develop instructional videos and interactive tutorials, and support the use of instructional technology throughout the Libraries. This position serves as a liaison to Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA) and represents the department on teams that develop and manage web-based learning support. In collaboration with Libraries colleagues, the Librarian for Digital Teaching & Learning facilitates the sharing of instructional resources and expertise across Libraries departments and supports colleagues in the use of educational technologies. With colleagues in LSS, they teach information literacy sessions as part of the undergraduate course-based instruction program team. This position supervises one University Library Specialist. As a member of the Libraries' Ask Us team, the incumbent serves as an Ask Us Service Manager, facilitating the use of library spaces and services and providing support and reference assistance at the Ask Us center and in the virtual environment. This position participates in library planning and serves on library-wide committees, task forces, and teams. Librarians are expected to be active professionally and to contribute to developments in the field. This position reports to the Associate Head, Learning Spaces & Services.
Minimum Experience/Education:
ALA-accredited MLS or MIS, or equivalent advanced degree.
Required Qualifications:
Relevant professional experience, such as experience developing online teaching materials or working within course management systems
Demonstrated ability to explore and incorporate pedagogical innovation into teaching and instruction
Supervisory experience or history of successful mentorship
Demonstrated record of engagement with a user community and commitment to creative, high-quality services
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an environment of equity, diversity, and inclusion
Ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Evidence of ability for ongoing professional development and contribution
