SCOPE OF WORK: Provide quality, standards based instruction in the area of Health Sciences: assess and encourage student progress; manage an effective and culturally safe learning environment to maximize student achievement; maintain professional relationships with peers and professionals in the healthcare field. This is a 1.0 FTE position beginning August, 2022.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Masters Degree Preferred in Healthcare field
5 Years minimum work experience in healthcare field
Ability to attain VT Career Technical Education Teaching Endorsement in VT CTE #17 F

This is a co-teaching position. The candidate must be willing to work as part of a team, have high attention to detail and be a skilled communicator.
Facilitate, coordinate, and deliver a rigourous Health Science education curriculum with career-related instruction; assess and provide differentiation (including industry related hands-on laboratory activities) to assure student progress while maintaining a learning environment.
Administer standardized testing programs, subject specific formative and summative assessments in accordance with directions provided for the purpose of evaluating students.
Demonstrate an understanding of Perkins V Federal funding and requirements associated with teaching.
Provide Dual Enrollment course options for students in partnership with Community College of Vermont and Vermont Technical College, or others.
Provide assistance with students Personalized Learning Plans, graduation progress and or other high school participation related learning.
Sponsor and participate in Career Technical Student Organizations in order to provide students with networking, scholarship, competition opportunities.
Provide feedback to students about learning and professional development and adjust with a focus on improving student learning.
Participate, organize, and document two program advisory committees meetings each year
Establishes and maintains industry relationships to promote/ encourage opportunities for students for experiential learning with WBL support
Participates and becomes trained in Restorative Practices per BSD goals.
Demonstrates all teacher responsibilities; attendance, grading, data collection and analysis, course planning, in a timely manner.
Participates in the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment every two years as part of the Perkins V funding
Attends local and statewide VT Career Technical Education professional development opportunities
Ability to use technology in multiple platforms; schoology, canvas, power school, Google,
Works with the BTC student services team to provide additional support as needed to students.
Works with the BTC recruitment committee to market and recruit students each year.
Adheres to all Federal and State laws in relation to FERPA, Confidentiality, HIPA, Hazing, Harassment and Bullying as a mandated reporter.
Possesses the physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities.
Maintain healthcare certifications in the current field and the ability to stay current in the healthcare industry and related topics.
And any other job duties assigned.
Education
Minimum Required: BA in Healthcare related field
Preferred: Masters in Healthcare related field
Certification Preferred: VT CTE Teaching Endorsement 17F
