Job Description Summary:
The Center for Community Resilience at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is hiring a postdoctoral scientist for Evaluation. The two-year appointment is a collaboration between GWU's Center for Community Resilience (50%) and the Early Childhood Innovation Network (50%).
This position is primarily a temporary/training position in which the incumbent plays a substantive role in planning and conducting research by designing and conducting experiments in a controlled laboratory setting. In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, this role will participate in the planning of independent research, will analyze and interpret data, will publish results, will represent the university at conferences and meetings, and may develop new theories and methodologies. This position may also help the Principal Investigator to lead and direct the work of lower level research staff. This role performs work under the supervision of experienced researchers.

) at the Milken Institute School of Public Health, part of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., seeks to improve the health of communities by enabling cross-sectoral partners to align policy, program and practice to address adverse childhood experiences in the context of adverse community environments-the Pair of ACEs. Our innovative framing of ACEs, with the explicit focus on equity and prevention, has influenced local initiatives, programs, public health practice and local, state and federal policy. Over the past five years, our networks have successfully led systems and policy change focused on addressing long-standing economic, social and health disparities by partnering with community, integrating service delivery and building political will for change.
Today, our partners are responding to the global
COVID
-19 pandemic that threatens the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. The pandemic has put on full display measurable inequities along the nation's most fragile fault lines-race, immigration and poverty. The groundbreaking work of
CCR
has been pivotal in influencing public health and child health advocates to center equity in their efforts to address trauma and building community resilience.
Early Childhood Innovation Network (
ECIN
The Early Childhood Innovation Network (
ECIN
) is a local collaborative of health and education providers, community-based organizations, researchers, and advocates promoting resilience in families and children from pregnancy through age five in Washington, DC.
The Evaluation Postdoctoral Fellowship
The fellowship provides opportunities to participate in ongoing research, develop self-directed data projects, conduct mixed-methods program evaluation, and lead manuscript publication for various programs. Specifically, the postdoctoral fellow will:
* Lead and support program evaluation for
CCR
programs, including but not limited to:
* Lead the ongoing evaluation for the Building Community Resilience (
BCR
) national collaborative and network of grassroots coalitions.
* Develop the methodology and lead the evaluation research for the Resilience Catalysts in Public Health (RC) national collaborative of local health departments.
* Lead the scientific writing for
CCR
evaluation research.
* Support program evaluation for
ECIN
programs.
* Collaborate with members of the
ECIN
team to disseminate findings through writing peer-reviewed articles, refereed conference presentations and community forums. Contribute to and oversees the development of translational products to convey complex findings into content that consumers and stakeholders can understand.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Doctoral degree in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Completion of a doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, EdD, etc.)
* Direct knowledge in program evaluation research.
* Strong interest in child and family health and mental health, social determinants of health, equity and community resilience.
* Strong scientific writing skills.
* Proficient in statistical software packages (Stata, R, or
SPSS
).
* Proficient in qualitative data analysis software (NVivo,
ATLAS
.ti, or Dedoose).
* Proficient in
GIS
mapping software (ArcGIS) preferred.
* Commitment to a 2-year program.
* Experience working in community settings is preferred.
Typical Hiring Range
Typical Hiring Range $53,840.04 - $69,333.11
