We are recruiting for an outstanding individual to join us as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry. The post-holder will be responsible for providing leadership to the academic department of Paediatric Dentistry, provide consultant level clinical duties and training, undertake research and research leadership, and lead and develop learning and teaching in Paediatric Dentistry.
The post-holder will be expected to provide clinical/chairside supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students and trainees as well as maintaining consultant level clinical activity. An appropriate honorary consultant position with NHS Tayside will be sought.
Your priorities will include:
Provide leadership to the academic Department of Paediatric Dentistry.
Undertake research leading to high quality REF-returnable publications.
Lead development of teaching initiatives including assessment in Paediatric Dentistry and related disciplines.
Perform teaching duties in relation to clinical and didactic teaching of undergraduate (BDS and BSc) and postgraduate students in Paediatric Dentistry.
Clinical teaching, supervision and examination of undergraduate students (BDS and BSc) with an emphasis on clinical care.
Undertake clinical duties as Honorary Consultant within Paediatric Dentistry in conjunction with NHS Tayside, including training of training grade and SAS grade staff.
Who we’re looking for:
BDS or equivalent.
Full registration with the GDC.
On GDC Specialist List for Paediatric Dentistry or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date.
Ideally, PhD or equivalent in a relevant topic area.
Evidence of research in Paediatric Dentistry and/or other relevant topic areas.
