Full-time Lecturer, Biomedical Art and Visualization Program, Department of Radio, Television & Film
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Biomedical Art and Visualization Program is seeking one full-time lecturer to teach undergraduate introductory to advanced courses in the Biomedical Art and Visualization BFA major. The successful candidate will have professional experience in medical, scientific and broader information (didactic) media design and teaching in higher education.

Lecturers in these positions teach 12 credits per semester in both the fall and spring with the potential to teach overloads and possible summer or winter session classes. Class assignments will be determined by the program's needs and based on the lecturer's experience and expertise. These lecturer positions are non-tenure track, with renewable contracts and benefits, and provide the opportunity for advancement to senior and master lecturer. Candidates must be available to teach up to five days a week. Lecturers will be required to pursue service responsibilities as sought or assigned within the program of Biomedical Art and Visualization, the Department of Radio, TV & Film, College and University. Candidates should also have a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

The successful candidate will join a thriving department with seventeen full-time faculty in Radio, TV & Film and nearly 400 majors and minors. Founded in 2014, the Biomedical Art and Visualization BFA is one of only three public state funded 4-year undergraduate specialized degrees offered in the United States. The program has a diverse set of 11 program-specific courses and approximately 30 students. The program also shares a rich interdisciplinary collaboration and cross-listed courses in the Department of Art as well as expert and project partnerships in the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Cooper University Hospital, the College of Science and Mathematics, and the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering. Our faculty pursue diverse scholarly and creative agendas that include prestigious publications and internationally distributed, award-winning media productions. We are one of six departments in the Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts at Rowan University.

Qualified candidates must have a Master's degree in a related field of medical or scientific illustration and visualization with relevant professional and/or academic experience within the interdisciplinary areas of STEAM, science, medicine, visual arts, design and digital media technologies. The lecture line position will be dedicated to supporting the Biomedical Art and Visualization BFA and the growing initiative of interdisciplinary education and innovation.

Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the college level
A Master's degree in Medical and/or Scientific Illustration (MFA, MAMS, MS)
Must be a Certified Medical Illustrator (C.M.I.) through the Association of Medical Illustrators
Experience and/or membership in the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators
