Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates the development of instructional materials that are functional, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles, including alignment of educational objectives with content, activities, and assessments.
Provides recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, use of assessments, and online interactive activities.
Researches and evaluates new and emerging technologies, instructional design theories, and approaches and policies for potential application to instructional opportunities.
Plans, develops, and delivers cognitively sound curriculum content.
Collaborates with teams of writers and subject matter experts to ensure instructional integrity of the course development projects through a method of systematic design and clear course standards and outcomes.
Tracks compliance with federal 508 disability regulations. Provides substantive editing and formatting of electronic files to meet 508 disability regulations.
Manages project timelines and coordinates with team members and partners to meet project deliverables.
Utilizes effective communication skills to communicate with various project collaborators.
Plans, develops, and teaches faculty, staff, and associate workshops and other activities on the effective use of web-based resources and tools and multimedia technologies to implement in online and blended delivery.
Develops media products for use in online courses and websites including video, audio podcasts, and graphics.
As appropriate, evaluates the instructional effectiveness of programs, courses, and training products.
Contributes to the online learning community.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Master’s degree in instructional design, education, education technology or related field strongly preferred. 2 to 3 years’ experience in the design and development of innovative curriculum design in higher education using diverse learning theories, evidence-based pedagogical strategies and educational technologies in multiple modalities required.
Serves as primary contributor in course development projects partnering with subject matter experts and faculty
