The School of Medical and Health Sciences is offering an exciting opportunity for an aspiring or experienced passionate Children’s Nursing Lecturer to join our team. This is an opportunity to use the knowledge, teaching and leadership skills gained in practice to support student learning and the next generation of registered nurses. At Bangor, we are committed to the delivery of high quality, evidence informed academic learning for our Bachelor of Nursing programmes. Recent additions to our programmes at Bangor University means we offer a stimulating environment and support to enable you to fulfil your professional ambitions. The posts are available at Grade 7 or 8 and provide an opportunity for aspiring or experienced registered nurses to join an enthusiastic team to support the delivery of the children’s’ nursing programmes including the campus delivery and distance learning routes.
Candidates will have current professional registration (on the appropriate part of the register) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (in the child field (RCN 8, RNC). The successful candidate will have a degree (Grade 7) or a Postgraduate degree (or nearing completion Grade 8) in a relevant subject area, and teaching qualification.
The School of Medical and Health Sciences is an interprofessional school which sits within the College of Human Sciences and provides medical, health and care education and research at Bangor University. The School works in partnership with health, social and educational care providers through well-established links to enable a total clinical and academic experience to be provided for children’s nursing students. The School offers a career-spanning portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and short courses for health and care and allied professionals.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
This post is available on our teaching and scholarship career track. Here at the School of Medical and Health Sciences, we value the partnership we have with students and prioritise support and encouragement for all our students across their differing programmes. The School offers a supportive culture for our less experienced lecturers to develop their potential and you will be provided with an academic mentor. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to teaching and learning across the School’s portfolio, including in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework
, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
