Job Description
TEACHER-PRE-K RESOURCE(B-K PREK-K,PRESCHL DISABILITY):
This is a 12-month position with full
benefits effective immediately.
This position administers, scores, and interprets results of
screening and play based assessments within required timelines for preschool
students in the initial referral process to determine eligibility for special
education. Serves as a member of the IEP team to determine further evaluations
and appropriate educational programs for students by attending and
participating in referral and eligibility determination meetings.
*By Board Policy 6210, a teacher must remain in
his or her school for three school years.

Job Qualification
Candidates must be eligible
for a NC
Birth to K teaching license or have Pre-School Add
on or other qualifying (PreSchool Disability)
license.
Must have prior public school B-K experience
. Prefer strong technology background and
exceptional organizational skills. Requires collaborative strength to
work with teachers, agencies, and parents to plan, implement, and monitor student progress. *
This position is responsible for evaluations,
observations, and screenings as required for the preschool exceptional children
evaluation team. Standardized assessments as well as the Transdisciplinary Play
Based Assessment will be used extensively in this role. This position will also
include travel to a variety of community and private locations for observations
of preschool students as part of the evaluation process.
