Job Description

(ODU) invites nominations and applications for a full time, ten-month tenure track position in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program within the School of Rehabilitation Sciences in the College of Health Sciences (****appointment effective July 25, 2022. The school offers a professional Athletic Training program, a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, and a Kinesiology and Rehabilitation doctoral program and also participates in a College-wide Health Services Research doctoral program. We are committed to maintaining a diverse and stable faculty.
Successful applicants will have teaching and research responsibilities in content areas that match the applicant's scholarship, clinical expertise, and the needs of the program. In conjunction with the Program Director and other faculty, they will assist in the development of curricular design and content, preparation of State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) application materials, recruiting prospective faculty, and establishing a teaching laboratory for program needs. They will also participate in the organizational, admissions, curriculum development, strategic planning, and capstone coordination of the program and School. The individual will also contribute to mentoring occupational therapy capstone experiences and projects and doctoral students within the Kinesiology and Rehabilitation and/or the Health Services Research programs. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring graduate students and taking an active role in department and university service and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities Clinical practice experience;
Experience in scholarly activities;
Teaching and advising experience.
Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Earned PhD or equivalent academic degree from an accredited institution. Individuals with ABD will be considered
Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification Initial certification with National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT);
Licensed or eligibility for licensure as an occupational therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with ACOTE accreditation standards;
Record of research publications in high quality peer-reviewed journals;
Experience teaching entry-level occupational therapy content;
Mentorship of graduate student research.
