Job Description
The SPS METCO Program Coordinator’s role is to support the matriculation of all students across **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. The Coordinator provides academic and social emotional support to meet the needs of students.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Collaborates with teachers to provide academic support in the classroom
Serves as liaison between Boston students, families, district staff and administration on all relevant aspects of social and academic well being of students
Provides small group tutoring during team time with guidance from teaching staff
Meet weekly with SPS METCO Director and staff to establish and monitor goals related to METCO’s mission
Attends meetings for METCO parents in Boston and Sudbury to share relevant data and build partnerships.
Attends parent-teacher conferences and various educational support meetings as necessary;
Collaborates with school administrators and staff on all aspects relative to the success of the student in the classroom, among peers
Attends all relevant professional development recommended by district leadership and METCO Director
Assists teachers, Administrative Team and METCO families develop strong partnerships through regular, timely and two-way communication around student learning
Provides information about METCO activities, school and community resources for parent communications
Meet weekly with SPS METCO Director and staff to establish and monitor goals related to METCO’s mission
Other related duties as assigned
Schedule: 184 days (1.0 FTE)
Salary: Based on the collective bargaining agreement
Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance. All finalists will be required to provide official transcripts.

Job Requirements
Experience and/or strong passion for working with young children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds;
Familiarity with urban and suburban school cultures a
Ability to think and act in a manner that respects ethnic, cultural, sexual and linguistic diversity
Experience communicating successfully with teachers, families, administrators and students (bilingual capacity strongly preferred);
Familiar with social media trends and at ease with computers;
Strong writing, speaking and collaborative skills;
College degree is preferred.
