Global Asset Technologies, LLC (GAT) is seeking Mobile Training Team Trainer's
to support our government customer in Africa.
This position is open continueous. Positions will be filled as need arises. Assignements are full time up to eight (8) to ten (10) weeks at a time. When off assignment position is off duty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Training Team Leader during identification, development, implementation, and management of the program
Develop, refine, or finalize training curriculum
Ensure only vetted and approved trainees are trained
Conduct pre-training assessments and assist in the drafting and submission of the assessment reports when required
Deliver, co-teach, and mentor pre-deployment training in-country based on the government approved training curriculum, including training of trainer courses
Encourage host country trainers to take on increasing responsibility for training delivery.
Assist in the implementation of contract Performance Measurement Plan to track process of trainees and training
Track, monitor, and evaluate training and trainees based on the contract Performance measurement toolkit and plan
If required, participate in a monitoring and evaluation team to evaluate effectiveness of trained PCC peacekeepers in a multilateral mission
Travel overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy or other adverse environment
Reports to the Training Team Leader.

Job Requirements :
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications:
Five (5) years as an active, sworn position in a full service law enforcement agency. (
For example, state troopers, county police (Montgomery County PD), municipal police (NYPD or Town of Vienna), and most university and transit police departments fulfill the spectrum of police duties and are considered full service. Many sheriffs’ offices are full service, especially in small towns that do not have a separate police department. However, a sheriff’s office responsible for managing the jail, transport prisoners, and provide courthouse security that does not conduct investigations or go on patrol is not considered full service. Most federal law enforcement agencies like the FBI, DEA, Customs and Border Patrol, Federal Air Marshals are not full service, and therefore candidates with only this kind of federal experience would not be qualified to be a trainer for this contract. Limited police services like Dept. of State Diplomatic Security, Park Rangers, and Dept. of Natural Resources officers are other examples of limited service law enforcement agencies.
Certified police trainer with at least two (2) years’ training experience (must provide all training history including classes taught, length of class, number of hours taught, name and location of police institution, and audience)
Experience working/living in developing and/or post-conflict countries
Must be willing and capable of working in a fluid environment, under challenging circumstances
Must demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment and with trainers from another country
Must be able to deliver police training to foreign nationals through a language assistant
Must demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assess the capabilities of at least five (5) of the following skill sets: Human rights
Gender violence issues
Community policing and problem solving
Crowd control and public order maintenance
Proper use of UN standard firearms – rifle, pistol, and grenade launchers
Defensive tactics and self defense
Tactical progression
Basic police techniques
VIP protection
Check points
First aid and CPR
Land navigation, map reading, and GPS
Driver Training
UN System and operations in peacekeeping.
Must be able to deploy for a minimum of 8-10 weeks at a time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in curriculum development and capacity building
Knowledge of multilateral/multidimensional peacekeeping operations
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
Ability to speak and read foreign languages, especially French or Arabic
Prior UN peacekeeping experience or international police training and mentoring experience
Familiarity with mission planning and organizational development in developing or post-conflict environments
UN Police training certification.

Job is performed in Africa - OCONUS. Travel is required for short term assignments are typically eight (8) week deployments.
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to twelve (12) hours per day and sit for up to eight (8) hours per day.
Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh and work can be performed under hostile conditions.
