POSITION SUMMARY
CCA enrolls 11,000 students annually, over 62% of whom are students of color, including nearly 32% Hispanic students, 65% of CCA students receive some type of financial aid, including 52% of whom receive Pell grants, and nearly two-thirds are first-generation college students. More than 20 different languages and 60 countries are represented at CCA. In addition to traditional degree and certificate programs, CCA offers non-credit professional development courses, customized training, and economic and workforce development resources to employer partners and individual professionals seeking to enhance the capacity and productivity of their workforce or individual knowledge and skills. Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Duties for this position are to teach core introductory and general education courses in Construction Management. Courses include, but are not limited to, materials and methods, project management/project delivery, construction cost accounting, cost analysis, construction code, estimating, print reading, and scheduling.
The position requires that the instructor teach a full load of courses as assigned by their supervisor. Release time and/or contract hours may be considered when assigning an instructor's teaching load. A full load is defined as 30 credit hours per year dependent upon release time earned through other assignments
The ideal candidate must commit to becoming familiar with relevant instruction and assessment strategies, research, and latest findings identifying factors that positively impact the classroom and the learning experience of students of diverse backgrounds and identities.
Teaches assigned courses in accordance with catalog descriptions and approved syllabi, revising official syllabi when necessary.
Teaches evenings, or through distance education delivery systems, if necessary.
Maintains competency in assigned instructional areas.
Maintains necessary academic credentials.
Complies with all appropriate academic standards as set forth by the accreditation agency of the community college, the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., and the particular programs.
Participates in selection of textbooks/learning materials for courses taught.
Demonstrates satisfactory performance related to curriculum development to ensure that courses and programs meet current standards, are reviewed regularly, and provide evidence of necessary assessment practices.
Promotes a positive learning atmosphere within the classroom by maintaining order, demonstrating multiple approaches, employing appropriate technology, attending promptly to individual needs, and conducting class regularly and punctually.
Maintains a sound system of student evaluation, demonstrating fairness in grading and protecting the integrity of all evaluation tools.
Keep accurate records and promptly submits all requested materials to appropriate administration.
Participates in the department's efforts to assess learning by utilizing assessment tools as directed by Department Chair.
Posts and adheres to an approved schedule of office hours for advising, enrolling, and tutoring students.
Act as liaison between construction management faculty, Colorado Homebuilding Academy, and the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Supports Departmental programs including meetings, training, program reviews, etc.
Academically advises students (specifically related to a student's academic assessment and placement, academic major and appropriate plan of study, enrollment, and intervention, when necessary).
Interacts with appropriate external audiences (alumni, community, private sector, industry partners, etc.) to raise awareness of specific projects of the College in need of support (donations of funds, contributions of other assets, etc.).
Maintains a professional attitude, cooperating with administration, faculty, staff, and students, and community, and following accepted channels in all official campus communication.
Supports the vision, mission, and goals of the college.
Actively participates in Advisory Board meetings in finding identifying industry trends and implementing them into curriculum.
Must be CTE credentialed by credentialing authority prior to teaching.
Accepts other related work responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Master's degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline or an MBA.
Will consider Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field with emphasis on Construction
Previous teaching experience preferred. Will consider recent University or College graduate with appropriate educational qualification and work experience.
Substantial construction industry experience (10 years ) in one or more of the following construction market sectors: commercial, large-scale residential construction, heavy civil, infrastructure, or specialty contracting.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver elective courses in construction management.
Demonstrated proficiency in software relevant to the construction industry
At least five years of US construction management and/or supervisory experience.
Demonstrated culturally responsive, student-centered approach to teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from a regionally accredited university in the teaching discipline or a closely related field or a master's degree and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with people of diverse identities, and willingness to engage in professional development activities to improve understanding and effectiveness of working with racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse populations.
Experience working at a Hispanic Serving institution, and/or Minority Serving Institution and/or in programs aimed at encouraging access, retention, and completion of diverse student populations.

Salary Range:
Anticipated starting salary range is $50,000.00-$64,502.00. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan
