**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. has an anticipated opening of Evening Coordinator, Automotive Skills Lab.
*This is an evening position, the hours are 1:00-9:30pm.
The Evening Coordinator of the Automotive Skills Lab will be responsible for laboratory instruction for the evening cohort of the Automotive Technology program, as well as didactic instruction for one course per semester. In addition, the Coordinator will assist with laboratory instruction for the afternoon cohort, as well as the following: maintaining an inventory of supplies, equipment, vehicles, learning resources, etc.; ensuring compliance with OSHA standards of safety rules and regulations; delivering high quality training in hard and soft skills that prepares students for long-term employment success; and attending department and industry meetings and recruitment events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain all lab equipment and vehicles in safe working order; prepare vehicles for instruction; recommend purchases of lab equipment and supplies.

Maintain student records as directed; ensure academic and attendance records are accurate and current; provide information for institutional reporting and assessment.

Attend department or industry meetings and recruitment events as needed.

Assist with the preparation of teaching materials, perform clerical duties related to instruction as directed by the Program Coordinator, and assist in classroom/lab management.

Deliver engaging and high-quality instruction with individuals and small groups to achieve program outcomes; adapt teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners

Ensure learning activities are conducted safely and according to Industry Standards.

Assist students in achieving technical competence and behavior benchmarks deemed appropriate by industry.

Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform them in a timely manner of their progress; ensure that all students have a clear understanding of the program requirements and that all graduates have met all competencies according to Industry Standards.

Provide access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in automotive, education, or related field.

Minimum of 7 years of education/work experience in the Automotive industry.

Must be ASE Certified or become ASE Master Certified within one year (including the ASE L1 & L3 Certifications).

Ability to make effective classroom presentations and use innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience teaching Automotive Technology at a community college.

Ability to provide quality instruction in all areas of the curriculum, including, but not limited to the eight ASE areas: engine repair, automatic transitions and transaxle, manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, HVAC, and engine performance systems.

Certified at the second level of technical training in MOPAR, Toyota, Ford, Mercedes, and Subaru, or willingness to become certified.

Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work in a cooperative manner with faculty, students, administrators, staff, and community groups.

Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for a distance of 50 feet.

Requires handling equipment weighing up to 50 pounds while pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, and reaching while lifting.
