Job Description:
Job Summary:
The role of the Enrollment Advisor is to take new or readmitted students from initial contact to admission and registration. They are responsible for advising and enrolling new students for all programs using appropriate strategies. In addition, they provide students with excellent customer service focused on enhancing the student's overall experience at CityU in Canada.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment of New Students
Initiates new student contacts through organized contact strategies, including phone, email, and in-person communications. Collaborate with Recruitment, Student Success, Marketing, and Academic Affairs team members on outreach activities, including public information sessions and business development events.
Responds to new student inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Meets with prospective new students and provides admissions advising using an organized interview procedure.
Organizes admissions file for each prospective student including application, reference letters, and any supplemental materials required for each academic program in preparation for review by the academic team.
Generates new student referrals.
Conducts regular and timely follow-up activities for lead inquiries. Provides regular updates on inquiry and enrollment generation activities and data.
Documents all student interactions in CRM On Demand.
2. Admission of New Students
Assists prospective students with the application process following outlined University policies and procedures. Effectively addresses student concerns to ensure that all students are aware of their options and financial/academic obligations to their program of choice.
Participates in specialized and program-specific Admissions/Interviewing processes when needed.
3. Retention and Support of New Students
Creates new student records in PeopleSoft. Maintains up-to-date record-keeping for all assigned students.
Acts as a liaison for students with other University departments. Advocates on behalf of the student to resolve any new student issues.
Regularly reports student concerns to appropriate University departments or personnel.
Assists students with initial new course registration.
Supports business office activities such as cashiering, banking, and payment plan administration when needed.
4. Community Involvement
Maintains business relationships in specific fields as assigned.
Participates in external **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. activities, including participation in local events as assigned. This may include serving as a local representative to civic organizations.
5. Professional Requirements
Maintains full knowledge of City University's curricula so that program recommendations can be made to students in line with their needs and aspirations. Fully understands City University's student financing sources, rules, and requirements so that basic eligibility requirements can be conveyed to students.
Maintains knowledge of effective student retention strategies, university academic programs, admissions policies and procedures, including student policies related to Students Rights and Responsibilities, FERPA and FOIPOP.

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
Minimum of 2 years of sales or admissions/enrollment experience.
Must demonstrate a high level of customer service, attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through ability.
Excellent interpersonal, as well as written and oral communication skills, are required. Ability to receive, interpret, and then communicate complex information in an understandable format.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task, and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively to small or large groups and respond to questions from diverse groups of students, staff, faculty, community organizations, and the general public.
Proficient with basic MS Office tools.
Experience working in a PeopleSoft environment preferred. Working knowledge of databases to enter, track and maintain student information.
